Merry Christmas Eve!

I can't believe it is already Christmas Eve! This year has gone by so quickly.

I have some baking and cooking to do today. Hopefully I can convince Alli to help me out some. There is one more gift I need to buy and wrap. Tonight we are going over to Rick's parents' for dinner and then to First Presbyterian Church for the Christmas Eve Service. It will be a busy, but wonderful day.

Unfortunately, I didn't have the wonderful news I had hoped to share with Rick this Christmas Eve. We are moving onto a fourth cycle of trying to conceive.
Rick brought me home these gorgeous flowers to cheer me up. He is so thoughtful and supportive, even when I am sometimes overly emotional about everything. I am so blessed to have Rick as my husband and best friend. I cannot imagine life without him.

A Dream is a Wish Our Hearts Make...

A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes

A dream is a wish your heart makes
When you're fast asleep
In dreams you lose your heartaches
Whatever you wish for, you keep

Have faith in your dreams and someday
Your rainbow will come smiling thru
No matter how your heart is grieving
If you keep on believing
The dream that you wish will come true

A dream is a wish your heart makes
When you're feeling small
Alone in the night you whisper
Thinking no one can hear you at all

You wake with the morning sunlight
To find fortune that is smiling on you
Don't let your heart be filled with sorrow
For all you know, tomorrow
The dream that you wish will come true

A dream is a wish your heart makes
When you're fast asleep
In dreams you lose your heartaches
Whatever you wish for, you keep

You wake with the morning sunlight
To find fortune that is smiling on you
Don't let your heart be filled with sorrow
For all you know, tomorrow
The dream that you wish will come true

No matter your heart is grieving
If you keep on believing
The dream that you wish will come true

This was the inspiration for the title of my blog. It is a song from Cinderella, for those of you whom may not be huge Disney fans.
We took our first trip to Walt Disney World this past September. It was Rick and Alli's first trip. It was an amazing trip and we had such a magical time. Rick and I (and Alli) are looking forward to another trip back, hopefully with a new addition to our family!

"If you want to make God laugh...

tell Him about your plans."

I am a planner and always have been. I plan anything and everything, just ask Rick! This trying to conceive (TTC) business is not following my plan. Initially I planned that we would get pregnant in October. That didn't work out, so onto Plan B. Certainly we will get pregnant in November. Nope. Here I sit, in our third month of trying, anxiously awaiting.

Rick has told me several times that our dreams will come true in God's time. Letting go of something, even though I know I have no control over it, has been quite a challenge for me. We waited a little over three years after we got married before starting on this journey because we wanted to make sure everything was in order. Once we made the decision to start trying, I expected it to happen right away.

So, I have decided to stop telling God what my plans are, and let Him share His plan for us in His time.

This is me, waiting for our little miracle. Welcome!

I am currently in the "Two Week Wait," the time between ovulation and when we could possibly get a positive pregnancy test. I am planning on waiting until Christmas Eve to test because I would love to give Rick the most amazing Christmas present this year. We will see if God agrees with me.
