We went to Magic Kingdom today. Libby Anne loved riding the bus, and when the music came on to announce we were arriving at Magic Kingdom, her whole face lit up and she started dancing because she recognized the song.
We made it just in time for the rope drop opening show. Again, Libby Anne danced and smiled from ear to ear because she knew it. She waved to the Mayor and "choo choo"ed as the train came around the track. When Mickey and all the characters got off the train, her whole face was glowing with excitement. It was such a special moment.
Our first stop was to meet Mickey. It didn't go as well as I hoped. Libby Anne has always loved the characters, but today she didn't want to get near Mickey. Oh how I wish these 2 year molars had picked a different time to start rearing their ugly heads... just one more week would have been MUCH appreciated.
We made our way through Fantasyland- It's a Small World, Peter Pan, Dumbo, the train, Pooh, Under the Sea with Little Mermaid... It was a busy morning, but Libby Anne really enjoyed the rides. She still isn't acting like herself though. She constantly has her fingers in her mouth and she wants her binky and lovey all the time (which is very unlike her).
On the bus back to the resort, we told Libby Anne that if she took a good nap, we would go swimming in the Big Blue Pool. She started singing "In the Big Blue World" again. This time, I caught some of it on video.

After nap, we headed to the Big Blue Pool for some swimming before dinner. We met the Robinsons and the Ebbings for dinner at Ohana. After being so impressed with ourselves that we were going to be early for our reservation, the monorail had some issues and was running regularly. Long story short, we ended up missing our reservation by 4 minutes, they gave our table away and we had to wait another hour before being seated... with 8 children, it wasn't the best of circumstances. However, we had a great waiter and made it through dinner quickly enough to get back to Magic Kingdom in time for Main St Electrical Parade.
Libby Anne recognized the music as soon as it started playing and she was all smiles (are you sensing a theme here? We may play too many youtube videos of Disney for her... or maybe it has something to do with her having been to Disney World 5 times already?) I LOVED that she stood there and watched the parade with her cousins, waving at the characters and pointing to all the floats and lights. She was so happy. And so was I.
I know I haven't talked much about Emily Claire... She is here with us and enjoying herself as well. She likes to look at all the sites, smile and laugh, and sleep through the parade.
Our first day at the parks is over... we are looking forward to Epcot tomorrow.

And So It Begins...
The week ahead of us is going to be filled with so many magical moments. I can't even explain how excited I am.
We arrived in Orlando late this afternoon for our annual September trip to Walt Disney World. It was a long day full of driving to DC and then flying down to Florida, but we made it all in one piece.
This trip we are staying in a family suite at Art of Animation. We picked a suite because we weren't sure how well the girls would be sleeping and we were concerned about having Libby Anne in the same room as Emily Claire (this was way before Emily Claire was even born). We decided on a Finding Nemo suite... and what a good decision that was. Libby Anne LOVES Nemo.
As we entered the lobby, Libby Anne got so excited for "Memo", Squirt Turtle, Ariel, Dory, and Sebastian drawings on the walls. It was so much fun to watch her point to each one and yell out who it was, all while pulling her Finding Nemo suitcase behind her. Libby Anne wanted to stop and say hi to all of the big Finding Nemo characters as we walked to our room.
We opened the door to our room and Libby Anne peaked in. She looked around briefly and then said "Walk Mommy?" Someone wanted to explore some more.
After a quick dinner at the resort restaurant, we took a walk around the Cars section of the resort. At first, Libby Anne was a little hesitant when she saw the characters from the movie we have watched over, and over, and over again.... but it didn't take long. She loved seeing Mater, Lightening McQueen and Sally.
My favorite moment of the day.... as we walked back to our room for the night, we took the path by the Big Blue Pool. The "Big Blue World" song was playing quietly at the pool. Libby Anne heard it immediately and her little face lit up. She was walking in front of us, toddling along. As soon as she heard the music, she started singing along. "in the biiiiig blue world, I'm just a little fish! in the biiiiig blue world...." It was the cutest thing ever.

Silly Dancing
Yesterday I had a very long day. I missed my girls, work was ridiculously busy and miserable, and I was exhausted (but what's new?).
After I picked Libby Anne and Emily Claire up and drove home, I fed Emily Claire and played with Play Doh with Libby Anne. Rick got her a Cars (the Disney movie) Play Doh set that she was very excited about. You put Play Doh in the middle and then squeeze the two sides together to make cars. Libby Anne loved saying "squuuuiiiiissshhhhhhh" every time we would make a car.
I turned Pandora on the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse channel so we could listen to some music while playing. "I Like to Move It!" came on from the movie Madagascar. Libby Anne glanced up at me with a mischievous look on her face and a huge grin. I asked her if she wanted to dance with me and she responded, "Mommy, Dance! Mommy, Dance!" So up we got.
And so began our "Silly Dance" party. Just me and the girls, dancing like crazy around the kitchen. Libby Anne giggled and giggled as she ran around in circles until she got dizzy. Song after song, "Mommy, Dance!, Mommy, Dance! tee hee hee hee Silly Dance!" So silly dance we did. And it was wonderful.
I am sure outside looking in, I looked absolutely crazy. But it doesn't matter, because my sweet little girl was having a great time "silly dancing" with her Mommy. And THAT made my day so much better.

Will it get easier?
Sometimes I wonder if it will ever get easier. Not having two little girls under 2 years old... that I am handling pretty well (for the most part)... but leaving them to go to work.
I have struggled with this since Libby Anne was born, and it has only gotten worse with the addition of Emily Claire. I absolutely hate leaving them. I miss them before I even walk out the door. I think about them all day long. I count down the seconds until I can pick them up, give them hugs and kisses, and have them with me.
Some people are meant to be working moms, and that is great for them. I, however, am not. My heart and mind are with my girls, not my job. I don't "need adult interaction" like so many moms say about wanting to work. I just need my girls, my family.
I have to leave home before Libby Anne wakes up in the morning. Every night I put her to bed, it breaks my heart that if I am working the next day, I won't see her until the next afternoon around 4pm. That is about 21 hours. 21 HOURS without my sweet girl. Then I only have her for a few hours before I have to go it all over again. I tell Libby Anne to call for her Daddy when she wakes up in the morning and he will come get her and love on her. I just can't bear to know that she calls out for me in the morning when she wakes up, and I am not there.
One benefit of Emily Claire not sleeping through the night is that I do get to spend some time with her and not have to go quite so long without her. But I know that that will come to end some day.
So here I sit at work, missing my girls terribly, counting down until I get to be with them. 7 hours and 19 minutes until I leave, and then another 30-40 min drive in traffic until I see those sweet faces.

And just like that...
Sunday was our last full day at the beach. It was a hot morning, with not much breeze. We made our way down to the beach in the morning to soak up a few more hours of sun and sand.
We spent some time on the deck after shower and nap again. Libby Anne was very excited that "Hallie Doggy" hung out with us. She even shared her popcorn snack.
And just like that, our fun filled beach weekend was over. "Good bye beach, Good bye Macon, Good bye Hallie Doggy"
We had such a great trip. I am so thankful for my awesome friend Macon and her wonderful family for the memories I have from this weekend with my sweet girls.
Libby Anne loved "Hallie Doggy" and was so excited when she joined us down at the beach.
Mrs. B loved playing Grandma over the weekend. So sweet.
I took Emily Claire over to Libby Anne's pool to put her feet in for a minute. Libby Anne immediately reached up with her arms out, wanting to hold Emily Claire in the pool. Mommy's heart melts...again!

Emily Claire is 3 Months Old
What she loves:
* smiling
* smiling
* bath time
* cuddling and being held
* listening to music
* eating
* drooling
* the beach - napping on the beach, playing in the water with her sister, going for walks
What she doesn't like so much:
* sleeping for more than a couple hours
Daily Life with Emily Claire: Emily Claire is changing so quickly. She is a pretty content baby now, so much different than with colic. She smiles all the time and loves to look around. As long as she is being held, talked to or played with, she is a pretty happy baby. She eat a lot and is growing very quickly. Sleeping is still a struggle- Emily Claire isn't a great sleeper, but Libby Anne wasn't either. While Emily Claire won't take a pacifier, I think she may turn out to be a thumb sucker - she is just starting to discover her hands and we catch her sucking her thumb and/or fingers every once in a while.
Milestones this month: Emily Claire is wearing 0-3 month clothes and is in size 2 diapers. She went on her second beach vacation and loved every minute of it. It was our first overnight trip without Daddy; the girls both did great but we missed Daddy a lot.
