Disney Recap- Day 2 at the Animal Kingdom

Monday morning Libby Anne woke up with a fever and it was clear she wasn't feeling very well.  After a call to her pediatrician, we had a prescription filled for a probable ear ache.  After just a little while she appeared to be feeling better, so we thought we would try to head to the Animal Kingdom like we had planned, but we were prepared to leave if Libby Anne started feeling bad again.

We went straight to ride the Kilimanjaro Safari, which is one of our favorite rides.  Seeing all the amazing animals is awesome.

Libby Anne fell asleep before the safari was over.  Rick rode Expedition Everest while Libby Anne napped.

After Libby Anne's nap and Rick's roller coaster, we went to DinoLand to ride Triceratop Spin.  Libby Anne liked it so much, we went on the ride two times in a row.

One of our favorite shows at Walt Disney World is the Lion King show, so we were really looking forward to taking Libby Anne to see it.  She loved the music, lights and characters!

When the show was over, we headed back home to Pop Century for some rest and pool time!  Libby Anne loved swimming in the pool and playing in the fountains in the kids' pool.

We had a great time at the pool together!

For dinner we went to our favorite counter service restaurant at Downtown Disney - Wolfgang Puck Express!

We did a little bit of shopping and listened to some live music (while watching lots of kids and a weird old foreign dude dancing).

Libby Anne was fascinated by the Cinderella outside of one of the stores.  We did not meet any princess characters this trip- we are saving those for September.  I can't wait!

Our day started off a little rocky, but ended up being a fantastic day filled with animals, rides, sunbeams, shopping, and lots of fun!

Coming up next... day three at Epcot, and more importantly, Libby Anne's first character meet and greet!

Disney Recap- Day 1 at the Magic Kingdom

We were so very excited to take Libby Anne to Walt Disney World with us last week!  We booked a last minute trip to stay at Pop Century Resort for 5 nights.  Not only were we thrilled to be returning to the most magical place on earth, but to be able to take Libby Anne with us was a dream come true.

It was our first time traveling with Libby Anne so, to be honest, I was a little nervous.  But I had nothing to worry about because she did great!

I have about 1600 pictures from our trip, so bear with me as I recap our trip with pictures :)

We stayed in a hotel in the DC area on Saturday night and flew out on Sunday morning. We waited through the long lines to get through security....

And then boarded the plane!  Libby Anne did great during her first flight.  She didn't make a sound and even took a nap.

We finally arrived in Orlando and boarded the Disney Magical Express to go to our resort.  Libby Anne really enjoyed the video (anyone who has been on the DME knows how exciting it is to watch!) and looking out the window with Daddy.

We arrived at Pop Century and checked out the resort on the way to our room.  This resort is great for kids/families.  We actually like it better than the resort we stayed at last year.

After packing up, we headed to the bus to go to the Magic Kingdom.

We made a really embarrassing rookie mistake that I won't share... but by the time we made it to the Magic Kingdom, Libby Anne was asleep.  So we walked down Main Street with her asleep in the stroller instead of in our arms.  So sad

We walked around Fantasyland and then through Liberty Square and Frontierland.  Libby Anne finally woke up from her nap and was just as happy as can be.

We happened to be just in time for the afternoon parade, so we found a spot from which to watch.  Libby Anne's first parade was a little bit more exciting for us than it was for her I think.  She liked watching it for the first few minutes, but didn't get overly excited about the characters.  Don't worry though; that will come later!

We stopped by Cinderella Castle to take a few pictures as a family.  They are some of my favorite pictures!

We wrapped up our fabulous first day with dinner at Kona Cafe in the Polynesian Resort and then went back "home" to Pop Century.

Stay tuned for Day 2- Animal Kingdom!
