How big is baby?: still the size of an eggplant

Maternity clothes?: yes!

Sleep?: Sleep has been a little difficult. When I need to turn over (which is pretty often), it is very painful because of my pelvic pain.

Best moment this week?: our Babymoon in Mexico

Food cravings: Rolo McFlurries! yummm If you haven't tried one yet, you should!

Food aversions?: Dinner has been difficult again the past couple days.

Gender?: Sweet little girl!

Movement?: She moves all the time. I have started to see her from the outside a lot now too.

Belly button?: still an innie, but it is looking very different these days.

Symptoms?: Pelvic pain- I have a referral to physical therapy. Hopefully it will help!

What do I miss?: nothing

What I'm looking forward to this week?: finishing the nursery

Milestones?: This week, your baby weighs almost 2 pounds (like a head of cauliflower) and is about 14 1/2 inches long with her legs extended. She's sleeping and waking at regular intervals, opening and closing her eyes, and perhaps even sucking her fingers. With more brain tissue developing, your baby's brain is very active now. While her lungs are still immature, they would be capable of functioning — with a lot of medical help — if she were to be born now. Chalk up any tiny rhythmic movements you may be feeling to a case of baby hiccups, which may be common from now on. Each episode usually lasts only a few moments, and they don't bother her, so just relax and enjoy the tickle.

Our Babymoon

Rick and I went to Playa del Carmen, Mexico last week for our babymoon. We stayed at a resort called Valentin Imperial Maya. While we would not return to that resort, we still had a great time together. It was so nice to relax and enjoy each other, without any other distractions or stress of the real world. It was definitely hard to come back!

We spent most of our days at the beach. The water was perfect (except for some extra seaweed floating around the first day). There were waves, but they weren't too big. The temperature was refreshing and the water was crystal clear.

I think Baby D enjoyed the vacation also. She seemed much more relaxed and wasn't moving quite as much as she does at home. She was fond of floating around in the ocean and pool.

We have lots of pictures, but I will just share a few of my favorites. If you would like to see more, just let me know. I will email the link to our online album.

26 Weeks- from Mexico!

How big is baby?: still the size of an eggplant

Maternity clothes?: definitely

Sleep?: Sleep has been pretty good here in Mexico, considering I am without my big pregnancy pillow. Last night I was woken up a couple times by some animals outside making lots of noises, but it was entertaining.

Best moment this week?: Being in Mexico with Rick, relaxing enjoying our time together.

Food cravings: ice cream

Food aversions?: I haven't really wanted very many vegetables or fruits this week for some reason.

Gender?: Sweet little girl!

Movement?: I think I feel when she is rolling around in there. There is lots of pressure and pushing sometimes.

Belly button?: starting to get more shallow

Symptoms?: I am still struggling with the pelvic pain.

What do I miss?: nothing

What I'm looking forward to this week?: the rest of our babymoon! We only have a little time left.

Milestones?: The network of nerves in your baby's ears is better developed and more sensitive than before. She may now be able to hear both your voice and your partner's as you chat with each other. She's inhaling and exhaling small amounts of amniotic fluid, which is essential for the development of her lungs. These so-called breathing movements are also good practice for when she's born and takes that first gulp of air. And she's continuing to put on baby fat. She now weighs about a pound and two-thirds and measures 14 inches (an English hothouse cucumber) from head to heel.

Birthday Fun

Today was my nieces' birthday party. Anne Charlotte turned 7, Sarah Beth turned 5, and Lila Kate turned 2.

I headed to a splash pad in town, where I joined quite a large crowd of children and parents, all there to celebrate the girls. It was the perfect day. So much fun!

Just a few pictures of the festivities:

25 weeks

How big is baby?: the size of an eggplant or a rutabaga

Maternity clothes?: Yes, I feel huge

Sleep?: Not good. Getting comfortable is very difficult because of my pelvic pain.

Best moment this week?: Picking out books for Baby D at the book fair with Rick.

Food cravings: nothing specific that I can think of for this week

Food aversions?: dairy, meat in the evenings, dinner is still a challenge

Gender?: Sweet little girl!

Movement?: I saw a kick from the outside this week. I had my book rested on my stomach and she kicked it up.

Belly button?: starting to get more shallow

Symptoms?: A new development this week is horrible pelvic pain. I went to the dr because I was having a hard time even walking. He told me I have Symphysis Separation. If it doesn't get better in a week or so, they will send me to physical therapy. I am praying it gets better (ie, bearable) on its own.

What do I miss?: Walking like a normal person, not waddling

What I'm looking forward to this week?: Our babymoon to Mexico- 4 more days!!!

Milestones?: Head to heels, your baby now measures about 13 1/2 inches. Her weight — a pound and a half — isn't much more than an average rutabaga, but she's beginning to exchange her long, lean look for some baby fat. As she does, her wrinkled skin will begin to smooth out and she'll start to look more and more like a newborn. She's also growing more hair — and if you could see it, you'd now be able to discern its color and texture.

"Once upon a time..."

I hope that Baby D likes to read... because we have our own little library for her now!

Rick and I went to the Green Valley Book Fair and stocked up on lots and lots of books for Baby's little bookshelf. We are already really looking forward to reading them with her.

You also get a small sneak peak of the beginnings of our nursery. It is definitely a work in progress at this point, but it is coming together, slowly but surely.

The walls are painted a pale yellow with white trim. I have the valances, a pillow for the glider and a lamp shade in an accent material that I love. You can see the lamp shade sitting on top of bookshelf for now.

Here are some more pictures of all of the books we got for Baby D!

Alli's swim meet

Alli had another swim meet this week. She swam freestyle and fly and did a great job!
