Making Thanksgiving Treats

Libby Anne is helping me make special treats for Silly Papa.

She helped stir and then said, "I taste it?"  After tasting the cookie dough she said "I don't like that" with a disgusted face. (Gasp! Who doesn't like cookie dough?!)

Then onto the brownies. After we finished stirring and dumping it is the pan, she asks again, "I taste it?"  She used her monster spoon to scrape off some from the edge. She looked at me with a big chocolate grin and said "mmm Mommy that's licious! I like that!"  Then she ditched the spoon and started using her hands to scrape the sides.

Ohhhh how I love these moments with my sweet, silly girl.

Washing dishes

Libby Anne is such a good helper. She wanted to wash dishes with "lots of bubbles."

Halloween

I cannot believe I am so late on posting pictures.  When I uploaded photos from my camera last night, I was shocked to see pictures from as far back as Halloween.  I am more behind than I thought I was  :(

It was unseasonably warm this year for Halloween.  I had planned on Emily Claire wearing a little bear outfit (similar to what Libby Anne wore for her first Halloween).  However, it was way too warm. After searching everywhere last minute for an infant costume and coming up empty handed, I decided to put together a little ballerina outfit.  And it was perfect!  Libby Anne was Princess Ariel, one of her favorites right now.

We went to the Lawn at UVA for trick or treating.  This has been a fun tradition for us for the past couple years.  Libby Anne didn't really understand what we were doing at first, but she caught on very quickly that she could just walk up to people and smile... and they would give her CANDY!!  (She has a little bit of a big sweet tooth... not sure where she got that from   *wink*)

We saw Brook and the girls briefly shortly after we arrived, but Libby Anne had't warmed up yet so she didn't want any pictures with the girls unfortunately.  So sad.

We only stopped at a few doors to collect candy, and then we made our way to the middle of the lawn for a break.  It was quite crowded and Libby Anne had more than enough candy.  She was eating as we went.  Take note of her blue mouth from one of her treats.

I tried to get a couple pictures of the girls together before we left.

We stopped by Grandma and Pappa's to say Trick-or-Treat before we headed home.

Libby Anne apparently had more candy than her little tummy could handle...  I will just say that Libby Anne and I both needed wardrobe changes desperately.  Poor thing.

Emily Claire is 5 Months Old!

What she loves:
* smiling and laughing
* reaching for toys
* her activity mat
* eating
* watching Libby Anne (and she gets really excited when Libby Anne talks to her)
* rocking back and forth to music

What she doesn't like so much:
* sleeping at night

Daily Life with Emily Claire:  Emily Claire is such a sweet, cuddly, happy girl. She is a horrible sleeper, but she is so much fun during the day.  It amazes me how content and happy she is after we had such a rough start with the colic.  We spend a lot of our time together on the weekend going on adventures.  Emily Claire loves being outside and she is very observant. When we are home, she likes to play on her activity mat, sit in her bumbo chair, dance to music, and try to play with Libby Anne.

Milestones this month: Emily Claire is still wearing mostly 0-3 month clothes and size 2 diapers.  She weighs 14 lbs 4 oz.  She started rolling over this month and she will sit up on her own for a few seconds at a time.
