Libby Anne went to see Dr T yesterday for her 9 month appointment. He was very impressed with her development and skill level.
She weighs 17.4 lbs, is 28 inches tall and has a head circumference of 17 inches. She is in the 75th percentile for height and 25th percentile for weight. We get a lot of comments about how tiny she is and that she is "a little peanut." I guess she is a little on the skinny side, but the doctor is not concerned at all.
Both Dr T and the nurse kept commenting on what a happy baby Libby Anne is. The nurse told us that Libby Anne made her day with all of her smiles and giggles!
Libby Anne had to get one shot in the leg and a finger prick. She cried for literally 2 seconds and then was fine. She was such a good girl!
Unfortunately Libby Anne is anemic. Anemia is common in premature babies and she was slightly anemic at her 6 month appointment. However, now it is more significant. We need to give her iron drops, which smell horrid so I can only image how bad they taste. Libby Anne is not a fan of them, so we will be exploring options and getting creative about trying to get her to take them.

9 Months Old!
What she loves:

* Minnie Mouse and Mickey Mouse

* being with Mommy
What she doesn't like so much:

Daily Life with Libby Anne: Libby Anne is all over the place! She loves pulling herself up and standing on her own. We spend lots of time reading books, listening to music, and playing with different toys. Her favorite toys are ones that make music and/or light up. She absolutely loves being outside, especially if it involves water. We spend lots of time at the pool together. Her smiles and giggles are contagious and oh so sweet. Lately she has definitely been a Mommy's girl, and I am enjoying every second of it.
Milestones this month: Libby Anne has mastered crawling and much prefers standing to sitting. She pulls up on her own and is starting to get very brave and confident in her standing abilities. Libby Anne went on lots of adventures this month, including her first trip to the beach, a day at the zoo, and lots of time at the pool and splash park. Libby Anne also celebrated her first Father's Day with Daddy.

Father's Day
I know I am a few days late on my Father's Day post. Time is getting away from me, so I apologize. It was a very special day and I wanted to make sure I gave my post all the thought and time it deserved.
Happy (belated) Father's Day to all the Dads in my life... but especially to Rick and my Dad, two of the most amazing, caring and loving men I know.
- She gets so excited, bouncing around and dancing, whenever you sing to her or make noises.
- You make Daddy Daughter days special time between the two of you.
- You always put us first and take such good care of us, which I am very grateful for and appreciative of.
- You enjoy teaching Libby Anne new things, like banging her blocks together (which I am sure we will regret in the near future!)
- You go to the pool with her, even though you don't really like going, because you know how much she loves it.
- Sometimes you look at her and just tell me how much you love her. Those moments make me so happy.
- I will never forget your reaction when she was born and how much love I saw you had for her immediately.
- You miss her when she is at daycare too.
- You get so excited to share the things you love the most with Libby Anne, like all things Disney.

I would not be the person I am today without my Dad. He has set such an example for me and I am eternally grateful for that. He has a huge heart and is the hardest worker; he is passionate, faithful, and giving. He is a man of God and exemplifies that in every way he can. When times are hard (and trust me, he has been through some very hard times), he never loses sight of his faith and always maintains his integrity. His strength amazes me. Thank you Dad for being the man you are, but mostly for being the father you are. I don't know if you will ever fully know how much you mean to me and how much I look up to you. You are my hero.
Rick, I knew you would be a wonderful father to Libby Anne, but seeing you together is simply magnificent. Here are just a few reasons how I know Libby Anne loves you SO much and what makes you such an amazing Daddy:
- She smiles bigger and giggles more for you than anyone else.
- She absolutely loves when you read her stories. The way she looks at you when you are reading is enough to melt anyone's heart, but especially mine. It is the favorite part of her evening.

Dear Libby Anne,
It has been a while since I last wrote to you... only because we have been so busy doing so many exciting new things.
Taking you to Walt Disney World with your Daddy for the very first time was amazing! I was a little nervous about traveling with you for the first time, but you did much better than I could have expected. You surprised me with how well you adapted and handled all the changes. Your first flight went very smoothly, you loved all the characters you met (except for Mad Hatter), you really enjoyed the rides and shows, and you were just as happy as you could be. We can't wait to take you back. It is such a special and magical place for us, but to be able to share it with you makes it so much more special.
You also went to the beach for the first time. It wasn't a surprise since you love the water, but seeing you get so excited about the waves was precious. We had so much fun playing under the umbrella in the sand and going for walks with you.
This past Sunday was your first Father's Day. You love your Daddy so much- you smile bigger and laugh harder for him than anyone else, including me. We made a special card for Daddy and surprised him with a couple gifts to try to show him how much we appreciate him. I think the best gift you give your Daddy is your love. When you look up at him and grin, giggle while watching Mickey Mouse, and lay your head on his chest for some cuddles, I can see his heart melting. He loves you so much.
I am astonished at how big you are getting and how quickly you are changing. You are pulling up on everything and standing up on your own. You are starting to try to stand up without holding onto anything. While you can crawl, you don't do it a lot. You would prefer to just stand up. You are saying "mama" and "dada" along with lots of other babbling. Much to my dismay, you are starting to look like a little person instead of a little baby. Mommy needs you to stop growing up so quickly! There is no rush, I promise.
I am still having a hard time leaving you to go to work. Lately when I see you after I get off of work, I feel like you have grown up and changed in the hours I have been away. Time is moving so quickly and those hours are so precious. I absolutely hate that I am missing out- missing out on time with you, on you learning new things, on those special moments with you. I know everyone says that "it gets easier" having to leave your children for work, but for me it hasn't. When I leave you, I leave my heart. I miss you terribly through out the day and it takes all I have to get through the day so I can be with you again.
I will spend the rest of my life trying to be the best Mommy I can be. I love you more than you will ever know!

Splash Park
We finally had a Family Fun Day... It seems like it has been forever since we have had one, so I was really looking forward to today.
After a morning full of going through some new toys from her cousins, she took a long, much needed nap. We decided to go to the Splash Park for some fun in the sun when she woke up. She loved playing in the little fountains and splashing around in the water.
We had so much fun playing together. Libby Anne is definitely a water baby!
After the Splash Park, we ran some errands and then had dinner together. It was a wonderful day.
I will admit that these days are becoming bitter sweet for me though. I enjoy my time together as a family so much, but it makes me so very sad to think about my time off coming to an end soon. I only have a few FMLA days left and my vacation time is dwindling. I don't know how I am going to not only start leaving my little princess for 5 days in a row but also not have a day off with Rick. to be honest, it really upsets me to just think about it. So, I am trying not to think about it too much until I absolutely have to.

Disney Recap- Day 6 at the Magic Kingdom
Our last morning is always difficult and emotional. The thought of going back to the real world after being in such an amazing and magical place is heartbreaking. We try to make the most of our last few hours at the most magical place on earth!
We arrived at the Magic Kingdom for the rope drop show. Libby Anne was having her morning nap until Mickey came riding in on the train.
She loves her Minnie... As soon as she sees Minnie, she gets VERY excited.
After the Rope Drop show, we stopped for a few pictures in front of the train station.
And then another stop with Roy and Minnie on Main Street...
After two failed attempts at riding the Jungle Cruise (once because the wait was way too long and once for a diaper emergency), we finally rode it first thing in the morning without any wait.
Since Libby Anne enjoyed riding on Aladdin's Magic Carpets, we rode it a second time. Before we got on, we saw Aladdin and Jasmine riding it!
Libby Anne enjoyed it just as much the second time around!
We hopped on the monorail to go to the Polynesian Resort for breakfast at Ohana. Libby Anne took a quick nap on the way.
She was SO excited to see Mickey Mouse!
After our delicious breakfast, we headed back to Pop Century.
We had just enough time to go to the pool for a little while before we rode Disney's Magical Express back to the airport.
It was such an amazing trip... one we will remember forever!
Only 100 more days until we get to go back to Walt Disney World! Next time we will get to celebrate Libby Anne's first birthday!
